It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it seemed I lacked timing at all," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was underway.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was out the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as leader.
